Cost of Direct Primary Care

If you are not sure if this practice is a right fit for you, you may schedule an initial 1-hour appointment for a wellness visit/physical exam for $100 + discounted lab costs (depending on what tests need to be done). The costs will be made known upfront and you may decide whether to get them done.

During this visit, you may discuss with the doctor your healthcare needs/concerns and a mutual decision may be reached about whether this is a right fit for you. If this practice is the right fit for you, the $100 payment will go towards the payment of your 1st month membership fee and you will be enrolled in automatic payments of $100 every month for the next 11 months. You will only have to pay in addition, the lab costs.

After the visit, if there is no plan to continue care in this practice, you will still be called with the test results and recommendations as to the next steps if needed.

Adult (19 yrs +): $100/month

Dependents (under 25 yrs): $25/month (Would need an adult membership to qualify for this membership savings)

Max family fee: $300/month

Frequently asked questions

  • It is a business model where you pay a fixed monthly fee for unlimited access to your doctor and access to discounts on labs/imaging/certain prescription medications. DPC practices do not bill third-party payers (commercial health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.), which means that the patient is fully responsible for the cost of any care that isn’t included in the membership fee.

  • Concierge medicine and direct primary care (DPC) are two independent healthcare models that have minimal differences. The differences mostly involve contract terms, fees, and insurance coverages. While concierge practices may participate with insurance plans, DPC practices do not. DPC focuses on avoiding insurance to lower overhead and keep costs down, while concierge care focuses on providing value-added services outside of the bounds of things usually covered by insurance. Concierge medicine is more expensive and exclusive, while DPC is a more affordable and accessible option for comprehensive primary care services.

  • As the membership fee covers your primary care needs only, it is recommended, but not required, that you have health insurance that would cover unexpected, expensive healthcare costs. Usually, a high deductible/catastrophic-type plan or a medical cost-sharing program will complement the services offered by this practice without duplicating coverage.
